Hello! My name is Emily. Thank you for visiting my site.

I am a massage therapist, embodiment educator and consultant. I have practiced massage therapy for the past 7 years, and previously owned Empower Massage Therapy in Scarborough, Maine. I specialize in pain relief and anxiety management, and I’ve worked with clients ranging from professional dancers to trauma survivors. I was a member of the bodywork staff at the renowned Bates Dance Festival in Lewiston, Maine during Summer 2019.  I served as a faculty member at the New Hampshire Institute for Therapeutic Arts from 2016-2019.

During the Spring 2020 COVID-19 lockdown, I began teaching virtual relaxation classes that blended therapeutic touch, breath, and mindfulness techniques to help clients in a safe, socially-distanced way. This short-term solution developed into an on-going innovative workshop offering. These workshops have reached a wide array of audiences including School District of Philadelphia leadership, National Eating Disorders Association members, students at Bowdoin College, Temple University and University of New England, and more. You can find samples of this kind of work on YouTube and Insight Timer

I obtained my Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, where I researched the impact of mind-body interventions for teenagers and college students. In 2022, I helped create the Calm Space at West Philadelphia High School, an afterschool initiative to help students destress and learn self-regulation strategies in a safe, welcoming environment.  As a member of Philadelphia’s Alliance for Interprofessional Education, I have taught my somatic-based workshops to teachers, students and educational leaders throughout the city.

Beyond my career work, I enjoy dancing, writing, and chasing after my cat, Febbie.
