We were so thrilled by the success of the very first Empowered Body Expo, an event celebrating National Eating Disorder Awareness week. Emily teamed up with the Eating Disorders Association of Maine, the Recovery Oriented Campus Center at USM, and a dedicated team of eating disorder recovery advocates to create this unique event. With over 50 people in attendance, we made public art dedicated to self-love, enjoyed workshops like dance movement therapy and intuitive eating, and spread the word about excellent community recovery resources. Our biggest success with the Expo was in building community around the celebration and discussion of body image, self-love and relationship to food. We look forward to the Expo in 2020!
